Update
I have been away from England for four and a half years. My memories of home are starting to fade - drastically.
Five years ago I was celebrating my 32nd birthday on a night out with post-grad friends in Newcastle. I remember feeling old as a young student couple snogged on a seat right next to me.
Four years ago I turned 33 in Chengdu, China after an amazing two week trip through the Himalayas where I lived with hardy Tibetans.
Three years ago I became 34 in Tainan City, Taiwan after experiencing terrifying earthquakes in Taipei. I'd just met the lovely Zi Ting with whom I spent around 9 months.
Two years ago I was in Pattaya, Thailand pondering my 35th year of existence among the many ladies of the night. I then headed to Cambodia for the second time to check out Sihanoukville.
Last year I was 36 in Trang, Thailand having just been dumped by little Pat. I still miss the lads from there.
This year I am in Phuket. I have been here eight months. My birthday night was in my local O'Malleys bar in Phuket Town. The bar had just opened after a renovation.
Busy
I changed jobs at the beginning of October. My new job is teaching IGCSE maths from year 6 to year 10. I teach 25 periods/week but we have a lot of extra tasks which means you can be in work from 0730 until 1800. On top of this I have to study for my PGCE in the evenings. I am knackered every night. Therefore, not too much to report other than crazy weekend antics.
Dates
I have been on a few dates recently now that I'm over Oi. I met Da who works massage but keeps going to Bangkok too often. I met Phyu, a nanny from Burma. I have been seeing Lek who works in a gogo bar in Patong. I have also been dating Nid (pic above) who works at the ladyboy show place (pic above).
However, all these dates seem to be going nowhere. I went to watch Skyline at the cinema on Sunday alone.
Pool
I haven't even been in the pool much at my new place. The rain is beginning to stop and the weather is gloriously hot again. I really feel for the folk back in England. I have been very drunk at weekends and managed to lose my ATM card twice in a week. Going to the bank the second time was embarrassing.
It's 2140 and I'm exhausted so I'll be off to bed soon. I'm really looking forward to three weeks off at xmas.
